PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high density recording by forming a dielectric layer on the side of a transparent substrate opposite to the side where a recording layer is formed, and averaging the compressive stress on both sides of the disk to prevent warpage. SOLUTION: This optical disk has a dielectric layer 4 on the side of a transparent substrate 1 opposite to the side, where a recording layer 2 and a protective layer 3 are formed. By forming the dielectric layer 4 on the side opposite the transparent substrate 1 to the side where the recording layer 2 and the protective layer 3 are formed so that the dielectric layer 4 generates compressive force comparable to the compressive force produced by the layers 2, 3, stress can be averaged on both sides of the disk by the compressive stress. Therefore, skew can be eliminated. |
