PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always display the character information in a proper and easy-to-see way by storing the character information and the graphic information separately from each other and performing the switching between the column-by-column and row-by-row reading ways of the character information in response to the rotation angles for control of the displayed character strings. SOLUTION: The graphic information is stored in a reference state, i.e., at a rotation angle of 0 degree, and a graphic control part 3 performs the conversion of rotation of the graphic information based on the angle that is instructed by a rotation angle instruction part 5 and sends the converted graphic information to a synthesizing circuit 6. In regard to the character information, the coordinate position corresponding to the graphic information of its reference state is stored together with the tilt angles and array direction of character strings, the character spaces, and the information on the type of the character font used for display and on the character codes to be displayed respectively. A character control part 4 performs the conversion of coordinate of the character information in response to the angle instructed by the part 5 together with the change of array direction of character strings, the switching between the column-by column and row-by-row reading fonts and the correction of character spaces. Then the part 4 generates a display screen and sends it to the circuit 6. The circuit 6 synthesizes both processed graphic and character information together and sends these synthesized information to a display device 8 to show them there. |
