PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lengthen the life of an electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device as a whole by winding an induction coil around the outer circumference of a translucent bulb into which discharge gas is sealed, and installing a thermal conductive device main body, formed by connecting a good thermal conductive metal and an electric insulation layer in sequential order in the taken out part of the induction coil. SOLUTION: An induction coil 2 is wound around the outer circumference of a bulb (lamp) 1, made of a translucent material in which discharge gas is sealed, the induction coil 2 is electrically connected to a device main body 7 in which a matching circuit is housed, a high-frequency electromagnetic field is applied to the induction coil 2 through the matching circuit, to excite the discharge gas and emit light. A good thermal conductive metal 4 is connected to the taken out parts (lead wire parts) 3a, 3b of the both ends of the induction coil 2, an electric insulation layer 5 having high thermal conductivity is connected to the metal 4, and a jig 6, having high thermal conductivity, is connected to the insulation layer 5. Heat radiated from the lamp 1 is suppressed, the temperature of the induction coil 2 is lowered, deformation is prevented, and the accurate matching relation between the lamp 1 and a lighting device is retained for a long period of time. |
