RE-FORMATTING OF VARIABLE RATE DATA FOR FIXED RATE COMMUNICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment and method to make data communication to an external peripheral equipment substantially at a desired fixed rate. SOLUTION: Variable rate data are re-formatted to be communicated with an external device at a fixed rate. A packet start byte is added to each start of a recovered packet. When an output rate is higher than an information rate of the variable rate data, fill bytes are added to a recovered packet as required bytes to keep a desired fixed output rate. The recovered packet having the added packet start byte and the fill bits is given to the external device at a fixed rate as its output. The recovered packet having the added packet start byte and the fill bits is coded conventionally by using the binary 8 zero replacement (B8ZS) method.
