PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a natural image by performing no anti-aliasing process under specific conditions at a border line between successive polygons. SOLUTION: A rendering process part 15 generates data on pixels in a polygon consisting of vertexes by a painting-out circuit 9. An edge decision and depth test circuit 12 compares a Z-value, indicating depth in pixel units, to write the value to a depth buffer 13 when a pixel is in front of a screen. When a pixel which is being processed corresponds to an edge between polygons, the Z-value of the pixel which is being processed is compared with the Z-value which has been already written in the depth buffer 13. When the size of the polygon is small, when a polygon of a similar color is adjacent, or when a CPU 1 makes an indication, color data are written to the frame buffer 16 without the processing by an anti-aliasing circuit 14. |
