PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve orientation of magnetic powder by enabling particles of the magnetic powder to be moved on an individual particle basis. SOLUTION: At the time of manufacturing a pellet for an anisotropic bond magnet, magnetic powder having a magnetic anisotropy and solid-state thermosetting resin powder are mixed and stirred in a heating atmosphere, having a temperature not higher than the melting point of the resin. The solid-state resin powder is heated and softened. The softened resin is applied in a solid state onto individual surfaces of the magnetic powder particles by mechanical operations such as compressing, shearing or frictional forces at the time of its mixing and stirring. When the mechanical action based on the mixing and stirring is repeated, the magnetic powder particles are individually coated with the resin, and at the same time, the resin powder is also uniformly dispersed in the mixture. |
