PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the automatic computation of a recommended route for connecting an arbitrary starting point and an arbitrary destination point efficiently by route searching with a temporary route as a reference. SOLUTION: When the recommended route linking a starting point and a destination point is searched based on the map data read out of a map- information memory medium, the node is selected based on the bearing, wherein the node to be linked is present. The selected nodes are continuously linked, and a temporary route is formed. For the nodes connected to the links generated from the temporary route, the route satisfying the specified evaluating items is searched with the connecting amount being limited to the specified value, and the recommended route is formed. Therefore, the computing amount and the working region required for the automatic route searching process can be decreased to the large extent, and the automatic route computation can be completed in a short time. |
