PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card issue device which can rewrite personal information other than the balance and can exchange information between different kinds of cards and saves the manual work of a clerk in charge. SOLUTION: When a user inserts his own old card C1 from an old card insertion hole 3, a reader/writer for old card reads the card information from the old card C1. A CPU generates card information for a new card C2, based on this read card information. The reader/writer for new card writes this card information for the new card in a card member, to generate a new card C2. The new card C2 is ejected and issued from a new card ejection hole. Thus, the old card C1 is replaced with the new card C2, different in type, without handling by the clerk. |
