PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material excellent in charge and discharge performance by oxidizing a specified compound in a solution containing Li ion. SOLUTION: This active material is synthesized by using a compound represented by the general formula Hx Liy MO2 (0<=x<=2, 0<=y<=20 1<(x+y)<=2, M represents one or two kinds of transition metals selected from Co and Ni) as starting material, and oxidizing it in a solution containing Li ion. The thus- obtained active material shows an activity higher than a conventional one. This is considered to be resulted from that irregular alignment of crystalline structure possibly caused at high temperature is hardly caused since the one synthesized at a high temperature of several hundreds degrees by conventional solid phase baking method can be synthesized at a low temperature of 100 deg.C or less, and a sample having a large surface area can be provided. |
