摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce useless frequency search time and to decrease the power consumption of a battery by searching frequencies for a prescribed time, stopping once the searching when a registered frequency is not searched and then starting the searching again after the lapse of a prescribed time. SOLUTION: A receiver 2 measures an electric field received by a pager terminal 1 and generates a reception electric field strength reduction report 7 when the electric field strength is decreased and sends the report to a frequency search circuit 3. Then the registration frequency is retrieved (9) for a frequency selection circuit 4, the result 10 of the frequency retrieval is received, the measurement 11 of the reception electric field strength is started and a reception electric field strength measurement result report 12 is sent to the frequency search circuit 3. Then the frequency search 13 is conducted and the registration frequency is confirmed (14) by the frequency selection circuit 4. As a result, when a frequency fixing instruction 16 is disabled, a frequency search disable report 17 is given to a search frequency counter 5, and when the number of counts is a specified value or over by a timing circuit 6, the searching is made standby till a frequency re-search start instruction 19 is received. Thus, a useless frequency search time is reduced.
