PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a KARAOKE (orchestration without lyrics) device devised in the display method for a text telop so that a user can easily obtain the timing of singing and smoothly sing also an unknown program. SOLUTION: In the KARAOKE device 1, a musical sound data storing means 24 stores musical sound data. A KARAOKE performing means 17 executes KARAOKE performance based on the musical sound data. A text data storing means 25 stores text data expressing the contents of each text. A character picture data storing means 12 stores the picture data of respective characters included in the text. A text telop data generating means 11 reads out the picture data of respective characters included in the text from the means 12, applies conversion for extending or reducing the size of each character in accordance with the length of vocalization in the program to the picture data and then outputs a group of converted picture data as the text telop data of the program. A text telop display means 7 displays the text telop based on the text telop data so that each character is extended in accordance with the length of the vocalization in the program. |
