PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a foreign address with no especial horizontal writing designation nor conversion processing of character directions by deciding whether the address can be vertically written and then printing horizontally the address if it cannot be vertically written. SOLUTION: When an address is printed on a postcard, an address slip, etc., a control part 1 extracts the data on a single address designated by an operator from an address book file 11. Then the part 1 decides whether the extracted address data are written in alphabet. If the data are not written in alphabet, the print margin included in an address column, the print length, the print layout and the vertical/horizontal writing way are set based on a print data storage file 10 when an official postcard is vertically used. Then the extracted address data are printed in KANJI (Chinese character), KANA (Japanese syllabary), Arabic figures, etc., based on those set items. |
