PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly detect such as discontinuity of a kind of heater for a thermal fixing device. SOLUTION: This device is capable of decision-detecting whether a heater part 10 is in a normal state of low resistivity or the heater part 10 is in the abnormal state of the extremely high resistitivity (release), otherwise whether a relay 4 is left in the release state, or the semiconductor switch 5 is left in the open state, by monitoring respective voltage in the front and rear of the heater part 10, without utilizing fluctuation of the temp. information based on the conducting time, controlling a relay 4 placed on a front part of the heater and the semiconductor switch 5 placed on the rear part of the heater, and utilizing voltage of the heater part 10 normally provided with the low resistivity and AC power source 1 for feeding the energizing current. |
