PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove soil on a transfer-material carrying means in order to clean the transfer-material carrying means which carries a transfer material to an image carrier. SOLUTION: The image forming device is equipped with a transfer belt 14 for carrying the transfer paper to a photoreceptor drum 1 being the image carrier, and a cleaning blade 15 for removing sticking matter on the transfer belt 14 by sliding against the surface of the transfer belt 14. In the case the transfer material which is carried by the transfer belt 14 is the type of paper containing much paper powder, an amount of toner which is attached to a non-image part on the photoreceptive drum 1 is increased. Thus, the toner acts in such a way as to wash away the paper powder compressed between the cleaning blade 15 and the transfer belt 14, so that the cleaning blade 15 is cleaned. |
