The spring lock is cylindrical and at one end (60) there is a cylindrical hole (62) of a smaller diameter into which the cylindrical head (20) of a key (10) is inserted. Inside the cylinder there is a spring (78) which forces the ring shaped surface (18) which defines the head (20) of the body (14) of the keyhole (10) to rest against a ring shaped base (66) which forms the inner surface of the bore (56). Near the base (66) of the lock there is a lug (68) which is formed in relief and extends so that when the lock is in the closed position the lug fits into a matching groove in the external cylindrical wall (15) of the body (14) of the keyhole (1). The lug (68) is slightly curved and convex, or may be semi-circular. There may be a second, rectangular lug opposite the first.
|
