PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell generating system which can be stably operated without running short of gas in the cell during system startup. SOLUTION: This system comprises a main fuel supply line 7 for supplying fuel, and a desulfurizer 2 for removing sulfur components contained in the fuel and a reformer for reforming the fuel, the desulfurizer and the reformer both being provided in the main fuel supply line 7. In this case, a temporary fuel supply line 8 through which the fuel is supplied in order to keep fuel adsorption at the desulfurizer 2 in equilibrium is connected to the inlet side of the desulfurizer, and since a heat exchanger 9 for heating the fuel is provided in the temporary fuel supply line 8, fuel adsorption at the desulfurizer 2 is always kept in equilibrium, and the same amount of fuel as that supplied can always be made to flow out from the downstream side of the desulfurizer 2 even in a non-steady-state operating condition such as startup, with the result that a cell main body is prevented from running short of fuel and so can be operated stably. |
