The table (1) has a base frame with at least one linearly moving slide and, on this, a linearly guided support table to which the linear sliding drive apparatus is connected. The drive apparatus has a first drive which includes a geared motor (6) and pinion (7) and which works upon the transmission device. The transmission device comprises a drive chain (10), and followers (12,13) and causes the linear displacement of the slide (3). The slide moves through its path against the base on its guided table (4) driven by two transmission chains (20,21), a second drive motor (17) and threaded spindle.
