A data displaying method wherein appropriate and flexible guidance which corresponds to the level of the operator is displayed. In order to explain the respective operations, functions, operating statuses, etc. of an OA apparatus, explanation data corresponding to the operator level which is specified beforehand by the operator are selected among explanation data which are prepared for operator levels. With this constitution, appropriate guidance using the explanation data is selected and displayed.
