INK JET HEAD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME

A head for ink jet printing is suitable for high-density printing. The head comprises a plurality of nozzles for discharge of ink, an ink chamber communicating with the nozzles and serving as distribution and pressurization of ink, and pressurizing means for causing the ink chamber to be changed in volume to discharge ink in the ink chamber through the nozzles. The ink chamber comprises a bottom plate member formed of a transparent substrate having a predetermined shape and dimensions, a bottom wall member provided above the bottom plate member, formed in a pattern shape in conformity with the shape of the ink chamber and formed of a non-light permeable material, and a partition member formed above the bottom plate member in an area not occupied by the bottom wall member. Also, the partition member is formed from a photosensitive material, which has a partition member formative property, by the photolithography method with a pattern of the bottom wall member as a mask. A method of manufacturing such ink jet head is disclosed.
