Cutting device for staple forming head

The cutting device has two cutters (2,3) for cutting lengths from a piece of wire (12) to form staples by means of a shear motion through at least one of the cutters. There is a wire support (9) behind the cutting point (10) in reference to the input direction of the wire (5). The wire support may be fixed to one of the cutters (3) or formed on it. One of the cutters (2) may be round, and the other (3) flat. There may be a guide funnel (4) on the round cutter to thread the wire.
