The components (4) or component subassembly are initially fixed to one or more supporting components on the vehicle (1). Accurate positioning and temporary fixing is then carried out using a screw- and holder-mechanism before final fixing with fasteners (28), the screw- and holder-mechanism being then detached. The mechanism can comprise external and internal screw-threads (16,18) and coupling and connecting components (19,21), forming an installation tool (3) consisting of a screwed holding bar, a tapped adjusting component, and a connecting component. The connecting component (21) can be catch engaging in an opening (22) in the vehicle.
