The arm rest has an accommodation space (2) for the objects (5) to be inserted in it. The rest has a lateral or lower receiving aperture and via a smaller removal aperture (3) as compared with the receiving aperture is connected with the upper surface of the arm rest. In the accommodation space, holding components (4) are provided, by means of which differently sized objects (5) can be fixed in the accommodation space. A paper handkerchief box (5) provided with a removal aperture can be inserted in the accommodation space with its removal aperture aligned with that in the upper surface of the arm rest (1).
