Tool for bending profile sections, has the bend former (4) mounted on the clamp (1), and jaws (5,8) with sliding pins (7) which bear against the workpiece (2) and which can be locked in the clamped position. Each jaw has several rows of spring-loaded pins parallel to the clamping direction. As the jaws close, the workpiece pushes the pins into the jaws. The pins can be hydraulic or pneumatic adjusted and/or locked. The pin guide section (5) of the jaw can be divided at a plane normal to and about mid way along the pins, so that a small lateral movement of one part will lock all pins.
