The cutting head has a polygonal shape with cutting edges (2). The head is of doubled construction with a spacer layer separating the two planes and with a groove (3) cut into the outside of the spacer layer. This groove serves to holds lubricant to cool the working head. The cutting head is made of hard metal, ceramic, high speed steel (HSS) or other hardened cutting material. The outer covering of the cutting head is of a thermal insulation eg. titanium carbide, titanium nitride, aluminium oxide etc. and is cut by the lubricant groove.
