Resonance absorption spectrometer for ion spectral analysis

A resonance absorption spectrometer (1) has a laser with a ring resonator (3), an absorption cell (4) arranged in the resonator, and a decoupling device (9, 17). Two electrodes (12) arranged in or on the absorption cell (4) are connected to an alternating voltage generator (13) which causes the ions located in the absorption cell (4) to vibrate. A device (11) for generating an approximately homogeneous, variable magnetic or electric field is provided in the area of the absorption cell (4) in order to modify the absorption properties of the ions by Zeemann or Stark effect. Also disclosed is a process for measuring resonance absorption spectra for ions.
