The floor cleaning machine has a main frame (1) on which are mounted drive wheels (2,3) and a cleaning head (4) with mounted cleaning tools (5,6). The machine may be steered by moving a handle (7) coupled to the rear wheels in a learning mode to acquire movement data that is stored in electronic memory and then used when operating in automatic mode. The machine has four ultrasonic sensors mounted so that are set with specific orientations and generate signals indicating the location of objects or obstructions.
