Free-standing bicycle stand

The stand (1) comprises a base with at least two support bars (4,5) to which support columns (2,3) are attached, inclined at a specific angle and joined at the apex at which a fixing device (17) is mounted and from which a bicycle (21) can be suspended at its front or back wheel. The two support columns can be folded together in scissor fashion and a flexible member limits the angle at which the columns can be placed. The scissor movement may be carried out through an articulated connection (11) while the flexible member is provided at the base, in the form of a chain.
