Sheet collection device for page-oriented, mode-independent sheet stack for copying and printing systems

The device has an associated sheet feeder (14), a base plate (16) and left and right side walls (18,20) attached to the base plate. The sheet collection device (2) and the sheet feeder can be moved w.r.t. each other so that the copied sheets are placed on the right side wall (18) in copying mode and the printed sheets are placed at the left wall (20) in printing mode. The base plate has a shaker plate. The sheet collection device is fixed and the feeder can be displaced towards the left or right side wall depending on the mode. It is moved stepwise during stacking to achieve correct stack formation.
