The method for the transmission of toner is carried out so that toner is transferred from a first surface on to a second transmission surface. The first surface namely the donor surface is actively cooled, to prevent the adhesion of the toner to the toner surface. The cooling is carried out using strips (4) of a thermal electrical control unit part, which makes contact with the first transmission surface in a heat conducting relationship. A thermal electrical control unit also allows itself to be used for heating a second surface or receiving surface, on which the toner is transferred, to assist the transfer process still further.
