The bed or cot is suitable for a small child. The cot may be adjustable with the support for the mattress suspended on a pair of flexible belts (3-5). The height of the support may be altered by turning a handle (18) at one end of the cot. The handle is connected by a chain (16) to a winding shaft (14) running the length of the cot and fitted with rollers (10) at each end. The system includes a locking lever (19). The cot has bars at the sides and vertical bars along the sides.
