Amide derivatives represented by general formula (1) and being useful as analgetic agents, antiinflammatory agents, antimicrobial agents, hypolgycemic agents, lipid-lowering agents, hypotensive agents, carcinostatic agents, etc., wherein the ring A represents a benzene, napththalene, pyridine or furan ring; R<4> represents a heterocycle such as lower alkyl-substituted thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-yl, optionally substituted pyrazolo[1,5-a]-1,3,5-triazin-4-yl, 6-substituted pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-4-yl or 2-substituted purin-6-yl; and R<5> represents hydrogen or a group represented by general formula (a).
