Convention date, April 8, 1931. [Class 102 (ii).] Liquefied gas is transferred from a rectifier to transport vessels through a storage vessel a and an auxiliary vessel b having valved communication with the storage vessel and located either within it or externally, e.g. in its insulated jacket. The liquid is supplied to the vessel b through a pipe d, and transferred from the vessel a to the transport vessels through a valved pipe n, the valve being closed during the filling of the storage vessel. During the transfer to the transport vessel, the valve e controlling the supply from the vessel b is closed, and gas under pressure is supplied through a pipe r, a liquid pump assisting the flow of liquid in some cases. Surplus gas is then discharged through a valve x, and the valve e and a valve afterwards opened to allow the inlet of liquid to the vessel a and escape of gas through a pipe y to a gas holder.</p> |
