The ceiling mounted support rail (1) is used for fixing e.g. ceiling panels (2,2',2'') which are sound damping. The panels have a core (3) surrounded by rim profile (4) of U-shaped cross-section. The elements (2) are joined with coupling units (5). The coupling units (5) have a Z shaped part with two legs (6,7) with section (8) in between. Leg (7) of coupling (5) stretches from rim profile flange (11) of element (2), to diagonal facing rim profile flange (12') of the joining element.
