Device for communication between a plurality of functional modules within a local unit and an external ethernet bus

The device includes a number of internal buses which connect functional modules and a local unit. Each internal bus is multiplexed and can perform multiple reception and transmission using a predetermined format. The functional modules are coupled to the internal bus so that access to each internal bus is controlled by a specific module. A coupling module ensures the transfer of information between the internal buses and an external bus is performed. The external bus is also of multiple transmission and reception type and utilises the Ethernet(RTM) protocol.
