PURPOSE:To promote separation of residual gas, adhered to a substance to be sterilized in a sterilizing container, from the substance to be sterilized and discharge of the residual gas to the outside of the sterilizing container and to complete removal of residual gas in a short time by a method wherein the feed of steam to the sterilizing container is repeated in a state to hold the interior of the sterilizing container in a negative pressure state. CONSTITUTION:After completion of a vacuum stroke, opening and closing of a moistening valve 4 located in the middle of a steam feed pipe 11 running to a sterilizing container 1 are repeated in a state to continue running of a vacuum pump 3. The feed and discharge of steam to and from the sterilizing container 1 are repeated in a state to hold the interior of the sterilizing container 1 in a negative pressure state, and in this way, a steam mixing washing process is effected. As noted above, through repetition of the feed of steam to the sterilizing container 1 in a state to hold the interior of the sterilizing container 1 in a negative pressure state, and through repetition of dissolution of residual gas in condensate generated resulting from condensation of steam of vaporization of condensate in which the residual gas is dissolved, removal of the residual gas adhered to a substance to be sterilizing in the sterilizing container 1 is completed in a short time. |
