A vehicle, aircraft or marine engine or other equipment is immobilised by removal of a square or round cross section coded insert from the centre of a terminal block. A dummy insert can be substituted. The inserts are held in place by a key or thumb wheel lock and the leads to the terminals are hermetically sealed/ welded to avoid hot wiring. The block housing is formed from clear or opaque rigid pvc or polycarbonate, which latter is extremely tough, durable and impervious to most acids, chemicals and weather conditions. With the foregoing versatility then the shape of an immobiliser could even be incorporated into a glove compartment moulding with say two separate cores which would give even more security. Voltages and amperes envisaged are as follows:- 6, 9, 12, 24, 48, 96, 110/120, 200/250, 380/415-volt; 63ma to 160-amps. |
