PURPOSE:To easily remove only a damaged layer on a surface having scratch shaped surface flaws produced when a high hardness roll for rolling is ground. CONSTITUTION:A surface layer part including surface flaws on the drum part of a rolling roll is irradiated with laser beam to leave austenite low in hardness and a surface layer part is transformed to a surface softened layer, then, the surface softened layer lowered in wear resistance is worn to remove surface flaws. |
