<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a substance having a megakaryocyte cell projectionforming ability, such as IL-6, in good repeatability and in high sensitivity. SOLUTION: This method for measuring the megakaryocyte cell projection forming activity of a specimen comprises (a) a process for culturing myeloma cells in a serum-free culture medium containing a mpl ligand in a concentration of 0.01-1ng/ml, (b) a process for separating the megakaryocyte prepared in the process (a), (c) a process for bringing the separated megakaryocyte into contact with the specimen and culturing the treated megakaryocyte in a serum- free medium not containing the mpl ligand, and (d) a process for detecting the cell projection-formed megakaryocyte.</p> |
