PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently treat ozone by arranging a biological filter device to the front stage of an ozone contact tank at a time of the treatment of secondary treated water with ozone to remove an SS component and nitrous acid and effectively utilizing waste ozone gas at the same time. SOLUTION: A biological filter device 6 packed with charcoal 7 having aerobic bacteria film propagated thereon as a filter bed and having an ozone diffusing pipe 8 and an aerating air diffusion pipe 9 arranged just under the filter bed is arranged to the front stage of an ozone contact tank 1 and an SS component and org. matter in secondary treated water 21 are removed by the biological filter device 6 and nitration reaction is also accelerated to send secondary treated water 21 into the ozone contact tank 1 to bring the same into contact with ozone. The waste ozone gas discharged from the upper wall part of the ozone contact tank 1 is supplied to the ozone diffusing pipe 8.
