PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unburned fuel from being discharged into the air after a gaseous fuel injection valve is closed, by providing a fuel shut valve in a fuel supply passage connected to the gaseous fuel injection valve and by storing gaseous fuel in the fuel supply passage in a gaseous fuel storing portion when the fuel shut valve is closed and by purging the stored fuel into an engine when the fuel shut valve is opened. SOLUTION: When an engine is operated, a fuel shut valve 6 and a gaseous fuel injection valve 8 are made open by a command from a control unit 25 and injected fuel is mixed with air and is supplied to an engine 3. A canister 13 is purged via a check valve 24 which is opened by the action of negative pressure under predetermined pressure. Then, when an operation is stopped and the valves 6, 8 are closed, a first open/close valve 20 is opened and a second open/close valve 22 is closed and the gaseous fuel remaining in a fuel distributing pipe 4 and a fuel supply passage 2a which are disposed between the valves 6 and 8 is introduced into the suction room 17 of the canister 13 via a suction passage 19 and is adsorbed by an adsorbent 14. The adsorbed fuel is purged into the engine 3 when the engine is started.
