摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an image by efficiently utilizing energy. SOLUTION: A recording member 16 is a recording medium where a portion applied with a light beam causes transfer, color generation, or density change when the temperature of the portion becomes higher than a threshold. A recording laser light beam outputted from a semiconductor laser 40 enters a polarized beam splitter 60 via a collimator lens 42, a prism pair 44, and a polarizing element 46. A heating laser light beam outputted from a semiconductor laser 66 enters the polarized beam splitter 60 via a collimator lens 68, a prism pair 70, and a polarizing element 72. Since the polarization direction of the heating laser light beam and the recording laser light beam differs by 90 deg., both laser light beams are synthesized by the polarized beam splitter 60 and irradiated to the recording member 16 via a condensing lens 62. The wavelength of the recording laser light beam and the heating laser light beam is substantially the same as the wavelength where the light-heat conversion efficiency can be maximum.</p>
