PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a foamed model of complicate shape in a short time by molding an inverted die of the foamed model from laminated and adhered sheet members, and filling and foaming polystyrene beads in the inverted die. SOLUTION: Sheet members (rolled paper) are laminated and adhered and the sheet members are repeatedly cut into the sectional shape of a three- dimensional model to be molded, and a female die (inverted die) of a parts is manufactured by a thin film laminated body molding machine from the CAD data of the parts. After the paint (polyurethane resin, etc.) which is durable against the steam is applied to the female die, polystyrene beads are filled in the female die, and the steam is poured for foaming to manufacture the foamed model. The foamed model is placed in a mold, the molding sand is filled therearound, the molten metal is poured, and the foamed model is burned to make a casting. The manufacturing cost is reduced and the foamed model of complicate shape can be obtained. |
