PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost, space-saving and work efficient method of separating solid and liquid in slurry. SOLUTION: Slurry D is injected into a tank 100 provided with inversion shafts 99 and a filter 50 on the sidewall and in the lower part thereof to subject solid in slurry to plain sedimentation and to discharge clarified water F on the slurry. After that or while the clarified water F is discharged, vibration is given to the slurry to concentrate it. Finally the tank 100 is inverted by the inversion shafts 99 to discharge cake 19 of solid which the slurry is concentrated to form.
