A flat roof is weatherproofed by securing layers of metal mesh 5 to the roof structure and applying a cementitious skim 8 over the mesh. The formulation of the skim allows the roof to be porous to air and water vapour whilst preventing water penetration. The mesh may be secured by nails 7 or, in rooves having a flexible insulation layer, a special fastener is used to permit movement of the mesh. |
