PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner motor controller which can set automatically the frequency of a clock signal required by an adopted scanner motor, no matter which type of scanner motor is adopted from among multiple types of scanner each having a different clock signal frequency necessary for revolution at prescribed revolutions. SOLUTION: A CPU chooses frequencies of multiple types of clock signals C which are stored in a ROM and are necessary for making multiple types of scanner motor expected to be used revolve at prescribed revolutions, in sequence, starting from low frequencies (S1010, S1150) and outputs to the scanner motors (S1020). The CPU decides whether the time interval of the detection signal of a BD sensor which detects a laser beam at a prescribed position which is scanned by a polygon mirror rotated by the scanner motor is that corresponding to the prescribed revolutions or not (S1080, S1110), and adopts the frequency of the clock signal C chosen when the decision is affirmative (S1120, S1130, S1160). |
