PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing which has high strength against partial butt load and is easily manufactured even in a case of having a large-diameter bearing despite of small facilities by arranging and fixedly supporting segment bearing bodies into a cylindrical shape in the whole internal circumference of a cylindrical bearing shell. SOLUTION: Sliding contact faces 1a... with a shaft are formed from ceramics so that if it is driven under an oil free state in a dry mode, a sliding bearing is prevented from burning, etc., and if partial butt load is applied thereto by inclination and bending of a shaft, respective segment bearing bodies 5... distributedly receive the half butt load and deformation by distributed load is absorbed by cushioning materials 4... so that it is strong against the partial butt load and exhibits superior bearing performances all the time. The whole body including the cushioning materials 4 for holding as well as hard sliding pieces 1... is dividedly formed into a plurality of segment bearing bodies in its circumferential direction and arranged into a prescribed cylindrical shape in a bearing shell 6 so that respective segment bearing bodies 5... themselves are formed into small shapes and therefore the large-diameter bearing can be easily manufactured in small facilities. |
