EXTRACTING AGENT FOR GROUP III ELEMENT AND SEPARATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to extract and separate each of group III element with a high extractability from a soln. containing at least two or more kinds of group III elements. SOLUTION: An org. solvent containing an extracting agent having bis(1,1,3,3- tetramethylbutyl)thiophosphinic acid expressed by the formula is brought into contact and mixed with an aq. soln. containing at least two or more kinds of group III elements while the pH of the aq. soln. is varied. Thus, each group III element can be extracted into the org. solvent phase and separated from the aq. soln. In the formula, X<1> is sulfur or oxygen atom.
