<p>PURPOSE:To set a frame number and priority of picture quality in response to property of two kinds of television signals by providing a frame rate setting means and a frame rate supply means and using a multiplexer circuit to generate a multiplexed picture signal based on a set frame rate. CONSTITUTION:Input television picture signals A, B are received in time series as input picture signals 100, 110. Then sets of input pattern information A0, A1, A2,... of the input television picture signal A and sets of input pattern information B0, B1, B2,... of the input television picture signal B are inputted to a multiplexer circuit 10 in the order of frame numbers. When no frame thinning takes place, the multiplexer circuit 10 apply multiplexing in the order of the sets of the information A0, A1, B2, A3, A4, B5,... based on a multiplexer circuit control signal 180 from a coding control circuit 13 to output a multiplexer picture signal 120. Thus, the coding suitable for the input picture is realized and an efficient picture coder is realized.</p> |
