The opener has pivoted arms forming handles and jaws (3,4) with a support hook (1) and a return spring (2). Each jaw has sections shaped to fit the metal closures of the glass containers. The upper jaw (3) is cut out to a U-shaped section of which the smaller dimension is equal to the width of the glass cover frame. The lower jaw is cut out (4) to a T-shape of which the lower part fits between the frame of the body and the ends of the hinge of the closure clamp. The shouldered sections press against each side on the frame. The upper part has a movable hook (1) which engages on the cover frame to hold the opener in place.
