The boat mast is fixed by an articulated system enabling adjustment of mast inclination along a top cone angle up to 45 deg . It comprises a two shaft ball joint fixed to the top of a hemisphere (13) which supports the bearing at the mast base during mast angular displacement. The mast base has a cover (14) composed of three joined sectors each having a hatch. The cover retains balloons (11,12) whose inflation guides the amplitude of mast movement. The mast has a sliding connection with the ball joint internal ring by internally grooved and externally fluted linings clamped to the mast. Its travel in the ball joint is limited and absorbed by two springs wound round the mast and supported on the ball joint internal ring and the linings.
